150 years ago today...

...Abraham Lincoln spoke at what is now the atrium at the State of Ohio Capital building. The kids and Kim got to hear a wonderful re-enactor give the life story of Lincoln as Abraham Lincoln. The kids were thoroughly engrossed and were excited when he talked about pieces of history that they knew. This past February, we had studied Lincoln in depth and he is definitely Hannah's favorite president.

After the presentation, we took some time to see the different monuments outside the state capital building. It was a beautiful day. James is pointing out "Garfield" mostly because it is his favorite cartoon character right now.

How cool is that! I didn't even know that this was going on. We love everything presidential, especially presidential homes through the historical society. We saw Jackson's home a few years ago. Gorgeous.
