After Kennedy Space Center we were off to Atlanta, GA. Rain again, off and on. Thankful for the DVD player in the van. Saturday morning we visited Stone Mountain, GA. If you have never been there, we would ALL highly recommend it. We took a gondola up the mountain and then hiked down. While we were there, there was a Civl War re-enactment - which James found very interesting and reminded several of the re-enactors that slavery was wrong. Totally embarrassed Thomas, but he was right and knew his history.
ahh, the dreaded gum pole. the entire pole was covered in gum - very disgusting.

Should I pose? We are on the top of the mountain looking at the city of Atlanta. It was chilly in the morning, but after our hike down hill, it was HOT!

Another family photo opportunity - but wait, everyone is present!!! Atlanta is in the background. For more information on Stone Mountain, visit

I so miss Stone Mountain! I grew up about 2 miles from the park, so we spent every Friday night during the summers there, afternoons after school, just about any time we could go really! It was like a badge of honor to see how many years' passes you could have lined up on the windshield. lol
